[As Ravine stands, so too does Carlisle, not wanting to be rude -- and also a little afraid of just how much she dwarfs him if he remains seated. His eyes, ever aglow with energy that isn't his, follow her upward for only a moment before he shrinks once more, his gaze landing on the ground as his shoulders fold inward, his hands wringing together. Despite his sunken appearance, his face is hardened, knotted with worry. She has given him more than enough to think about, and that's on top of all that was already plaguing him regarding the subject of his impending demise. It is much closer than he would have believed.

And it will draw nearer if he does nothing until there is nowhere to run from it. Even death is not the release, however lonely and remorseful, he thought it would be.]

I will speak with her, as well as figure out what options I have. Only once I know what they are may I put some consideration into them.

[Given what she has said, he doubts he'll have to seek Ravine out to give her an answer on what he'll do. She will find him easily enough. He looks her way, tilting his face upward.]

I know you said you were obligated to help me, and I admit I still don't quite understand why, but... thank you. Sincerely.

[It's okay, Carlisle. Ravine dwarfs most people. She's gotten used to this.

[At his response, she nods.]

[Whether she means in the literal sense, that she will appear from seemingly out of nowhere as she had just moments prior, or something more supportive and meaningful, she doesn't clarify. She could even be referring to being here in the city altogether, rather than sent back to her own dying planet through the Door of this world. It is no concern to her either way.]
