Hello, this is Carlisle.

I mean, it's not Carlisle as in I'm actually answering you right now, so if you're trying to reply to me at the second, you should probably save your breath because I'm not really here. This is some kind of a recording of my voice, but this is my communicator. I'm going to assume these devices are as common here as they are in other places — not my world, but others, ones more technologically advanced than where I come from— so if you'd like to leave me a message, then you may do so here, or er...

Right. Here is fine. So just leave yo—

Carlisle's moan is met with a purr from Glacius, who steadies his partner as his body shakes and judders under the weight of his arousal. Every reaction the clergyman is giving is screaming that it won't be long, now--the volume of his voice, the clenching of his jaw, the tightness in every muscle as he reaches his breaking point...

... And then a few moments later he goes slack, spent, his limp body propped up against his alien partner, wrapped up securely in his strong arms. Glacius basks in the moment as Carlisle soaks in the afterglow, endorphins coasting his hazy mind near much-needed sleep, which suits the otherworldly being just fine. When it comes to strengthening their relationship and bettering the clergyman's life, there's always more work to be done... and his partner's slumber will give him the chance to finally enact a surprise that he has been planning for some time now.

[Continued.]

[A two-page note, as recorded in Carlisle's journal on the 5th of March.]

A very large lizard. [Marian starts out clarifying, realizing just how it sounds, but it just gets worse and...] With little claw fingers and... ah, it isn't important.

[But she does manage to find what was probably an old heater of some kind, and ducks under the table to plug it in, adding to the electromechanical hum of the place and making her voice a bit muffled.]

But you don't have any need for some sort of 'magical' workshop?
einselective: (unimpressed)

[personal profile] einselective 2017-04-01 02:52 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, of course. No need for modern medicine when you have magical healing.

[Marian assumes. It never ends here, does it.]
einselective: (displeased)

[personal profile] einselective 2017-04-01 03:48 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, pardon me. I'm sure your alchemists are very reliable.

[She really shouldn't use that much sarcasm with someone who's providing her with concrete help, but these things just slip out after a lifetime of doing it.]

Are you just about done?
einselective: (not this shit again)

[personal profile] einselective 2017-04-01 04:39 pm (UTC)(link)
[Marian sighs the deepest sigh, even as she watches the sigil light up for the third time. With considerably less of an acerbic tone, she adds:]

I suppose I should that you for coming out here, too.

[personal profile] einselective 2017-04-11 02:16 am (UTC)(link)
[Marian's initial response to that is a noncommittal noise. He says that, but didn't exactly seem enthusiastic about providing this kind of material help in a more general sense to the city at large.]

Do you get... tired out by this magic of yours?
einselective: (melancholy)

[personal profile] einselective 2017-04-13 01:35 am (UTC)(link)
[Well at least it's not something from nothing. And although she's not about to cast aspersions on his mission statement of helping, a possible reason for limiting it.]

That's all for now, then.

I'll...

[What, 'continue keeping an eye out for any greenery of possible interest?' She can, certainly, but the chances of that seem slim. And beyond the very vague suggestion she'd made at their second meeting, she can't just tell anyone what her device is capable of. That can makes things... complicated.

Then again, this guy can't even set an answering machine message properly.]

...lend a hand if you need it with anything technological, as well. Although given the 'gods'' apparent distaste for anything modern, that seems about as likely as finding new and interesting vegetation.

[Sometime after this wholesome exchange:]

Hey. Couple of bloody dumbasses on the network and you're not doing your-- [insert imitation of Carlisle's accent here:] --"oh
Cisthp golly gosh, yet another poor wayfairing soul in need of my healing bullshit!"...

...

Shtick. Thing.

Anyway, am just checking if you're not dead on your end as well, because your communicator is still active and we're short on medical professionals as it is now.
[So... yeah.]
circumitus: I CAN QUIT ANY FUCKING TIME I WANT. (i'm not drunk YOU'RE drunk)

[personal profile] circumitus 2017-05-01 02:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, you do.

[He sounds like that to her, anyway.]

Fair, though. Was wondering, is all. Given who all we've lost and having not seen your face around trying to "make amends" and shit for a while, just wasn't sure. [Le shrug.]

In any case, those twits both deserve to bleed out for being stupid, so don't really care what you do or don't do.

[Some people are bummed, sure. Rey didn't know Kate well enough, however, to see it as nothing more than the loss of a valuable asset -- which is highlighted by Carlisle's reply.]

There's no way you can make more of those things without her?
circumitus: There's my chippy! (where's my chippy?)

Am not going to pretend to understand how that magic shit from your world works, but you can't at least try?

Isn't that also how many useful discoveries are found?

[Okay, maybe and maybe not.]
