It helps with, like, aches and pains. Mostly though it just helps people chill out. We call it 'getting high' because it's like a fun, floating sensation.

You also get wicked hungry. We call that the munchies.

Probably! I think people most often bake it into things. Brownies are popular, but I can't eat those so I've never tried it that way.

Brownies are fucking delicious, man! They're chocolate, gooey treats. Like a cross between cake and fudge? I only ate them once and it was the best.

I'd do anything to eat them again.

This place don't really have the stuff for it. Also, I'd be sick for days. Chocolate has something in that's toxic to me because I'm part canine.

[ See, Carlisle, this is the way to get on Rosie's good side. Don't ask questions. She notices the non-inquiry into what she is and is... definitely thankful. It's not a secret anymore, but it gets a little tiring bringing it up time and time again. ]

I mean. Maybe. Most people seem to like the taste of chocolate with it. I like the taste of chocolate too, it just doesn't agree with me.

I know there's substitutes though that are safe for dogs, but... it's just not the same. I'm also absolute garbage at cooking so I'd probably burn the place down before I made anything edible.

Weed is just. The common name we gave it. I don't know why since I don't think it's actually a weed - maybe it is? - but. Anyway.

What are paw plants, then?

It's a type of herb from my world primarily grown by the Forest Folk with leaves that have curved thorns. You know. Like paws.

[Hence the name.]

They're often used for medicinal purposes, many of which were discovered by Pendlebrook Brimstone, the fellow who first negotiated with the Forest Folk to allow for the trade of such plants. It is primarily used in alchemy, though those with knowledge of glyphcrafting can readily enchant it into a tea for the same effect.

Also, that totally sounds like weed, 'medicinal purposes' and all. Just with a different look and name? Maybe it's your universe's version of it.

Why do I get the distinct feeling you're looking to use this plant of yours for purposes other than medicinal ones?

Well, it has 'recreational' use where... you smoke it even though you don't need to.

Kind of like having sex without the purpose of procreating, y'know? It's just fun.
